So...last night, I was trying to come up with some phrases that meant the same thing as "don't judge a book by its cover." I came up with these myself:
"All that glitters is not gold."
"Looks can be deceiving."
I then asked my friends, "What's another way of saying 'looks can be deceiving'?" This was both of their answers:
"Deception can be found in looks."
While I found this hilarious, I chose not to use it in my essay. These answers were honorable mentions:
"A girl isn't a girl until you check her skirt."
"Every beast has a beauty."
As a side note, today I went to a workshop for applying for the Media Arts Major, because you need a workshop because they only accept half of the people that apply, and it's a hard, hard application. I have always been worried about the application, afraid that I wouldn't do good enough to get into the program. After today, I feel better about it and slightly more confident, but I'm still scared as heck.
