Yup.
I'm pretty excited about it.

"It snowed, it snowed, it snowed last night"
It ACTUALLY snowed like five minutes ago, but that's a quote from a song by Meaghan Smith that's really really good.
Anyway...
Five minutes ago...
I ran and danced in the snow.
Real snow.
That stuck to the cars.
It was awesome.
That is all.

"The skies above are clear again, so let's sing a song of cheer again, happy days are here again"
*"Get Happy/Happy Days are Here Again" was sung on Glee by Rachel and Kurt and it's pretty much my new alltime favorite song. I can't listen to it enough. And it's completely applicable to this week*
Last week was filled with stress and stress and work and work and stress. BUT Sunday, I spent nine and a half hours working on my research paper, and now it's finished, and I have nothing to do! YAY!
So...yesterday was pretty much an all-around awesome day. Maybe it was just the "high" after spending almost an entire day working on a research paper, or maybe it was just awesome. Either way, I'm still happy.
It started off normal, I woke up and went to class. We're starting proofs for truth-functional logic and it's fun. At least in my opinion it is. I spent the hour inbetween classes writing random stories for missionaries I've hardly talked to in my life (one of which is soon to appear on Facebook). My writing class was easy, we blew up balloons and created molten iron in my physical science class, and I understood most of what we talked about in my astronomy class. And that was just my morning and part of the afternoon.
Then I went to WalMart with Brooke and Jordan and Justin, which is always fun. Brooke bought a pumpkin that I got to carry around, which was fun. Then I went back to Brooke's apartment and chilled there for a while. I actually did homework that I wasn't due today. If that's not an indication that I was in a good mood yesterday, then I don't know what is.
Then I went home and made italian sausage and parmesan pasta roni, which was tasty. Then Lauren and I went to FHE, which ended up being loads of fun. We played the Animal Game (i had never heard of it before, but it's fun and it involves whacking people with a newspaper bat) but instead of each having animal names, we gave ourselves scripture names. I was Methuselah and others were Teancum, Anti-Nephi-Lehi, David, Mahonri Moriancumr, Abinadi, and Captain Moroni, just to name a few.
Then, Lauren and I went over to Brooke's apartment and we were going to watch Star Wars, but surprise surprise, there were other people over there. Some of the boys in their FHE group were over at their apartment still, and we all ended up chilling together for the rest of the night. We made pie and grits, ate cookie dough, joked around, didn't end up watching Star Wars, freaked out over the sliding tv stand, and watched certain friends go crazy. AND I didn't have to go home early to do homework or anything.
I don't know exactly what it was about yesterday, but I was in a good mood all day yesterday, and it's carried over into today. It's a good feeling.

Cougareat Adventures
So... today inbetween classes, I went to the Cougareat to get some small breakfast and to work on homework. I had a donut covered in chocolate frosting with oreo chunks and this peanut butter drizzle thing. Delicious! Anyway...some guy walked up to me and asked, referring to the donut, "Excuse me, where did you get that?" I found this funny.
THEN these three random guys sat down at the table where I was sitting. I had my headphones and they didn't try to talk to me, so I was like, whatever. Anyway, all of a sudden they had a conversation that went something like this:
Guy 1: So, I think I might've already asked this before, but I don't remember asking it and I don't remember the answer, so...are The Netherlands and Denmark the same thing?
Guy 2: No, cause The Netherlands are Dutch.
Guy 3: I'm not sure, but I think Denmark might be the same . . .
Guy 2: no, the Netherlands are in Scandinavia. They're not the same thing.
Guy 1: Isn't Denmark in Scandinavia, somewhere near Holland or something?
Guy 2: No, Denmark is Danish.
Guy 3: Aren't the Danish part of Scandinavia? I thought they're part of the same place.
Guy 2: They're two completely separate things. They don't like each other.
Guy 1: But, Denmark and The Netherlands could still be the same . . .
Guy 2: No, they can't.
Guy 1: I thought you said Denmark was Dutch.
Guy 2: No.
Guy 1: But . . .
Guy 2: No. The Netherlands and Holland, which are the same thing, are Dutch.
Guy 3: laughing
Guy 1: So, Holland is . . .
Guy 2: Holland is The Netherlands is Dutch.
Guy 1: So those two are the same thing?
Guy 2: Yes.
Guy 1: So are Norway and Den . . .
Guy 3: Norway?
Guy 2: Dude, listen, Denmark is Denmark is Denmark.
Guy 3: laughing
Guy 1: And Norway isn't part of Scandinavia?
Guy 2: No, it's not. They could get in a war and Scandinavia would kick their butts because they're morons.
Guy 1: How do you know they're morons?
Guy 2: I'm basing that off of the past two minutes of this conversation with you.
It went something along those lines. I zoned out a little towards the end and had to fill in the blanks. Anyway, I was trying so hard not to laugh, but I smiled a little. I don't think they could tell that the reason I was smiling was because I found their conversation amusing and not my book amusing. But whatever . . . it made my day.

Side by side with my loved ones, I find enchantment here
(Just in case you didn't know, the title of this post comes from Bella Notte)
So . . .
It's been a while since I last made a post. Sorry. Been busy. I promise to try my hardest to think about it more. Just for the people who care.
I. Love. BYU. I can't say that enough. People keep asking me, "So, what do you think of BYU?" and then they almost sound surprised when I say, "I can't get over how much I love it." It makes no sense to me. Doesn't everyone love BYU? I love the people here. I love the random conversations I accidentally overhear all around campus. I love the upstairs of the Maeser auditorium. I love starting classes with a prayer. I love the terrible puns my Book of Mormon professor says in class. I love my Book of Mormon class in general. I'm starting to get more homesick, but I'm still having oodles and oodles of fun.
So, for some catch up:
- We went to Salt Lake for General Conference and it was AWESOME! Salt Lake was gorgeous and the speakers were all awesome. I loved listening to the choir in the tabernacle. We also had the opportunity to watch the Joseph Smith movie before the first session of Conference. I cried. And I never cry.
- BYU WON THE HOMECOMING GAME!!!
- I've spent way too much money (don't worry, Mom)
- I'm making scarves for my friends, which is super fun.
- Guys I know from Fallon keep creeping me out randomly. I don't understand it.
- We pretty much threw the most epic birthday party EVER for Erika.
- I discovered phonezoo.com
- I've actually been able to start wearing some winter-ish clothes. Exciting!
- I went and saw the BYU performance of The Magic Flute, and all I can say now is...Papageno, Papageno, Papageno!
and...that's pretty much it. At least, that's all I can think of right now.
Right now, I have to go write a draft for my research paper and hopefully get some measure of decent sleep. So, I will leave you with Bella Notte. (Seriously, go listen to that song again, I'd forgotten how awesome it is)
"So this is a night, it's a beautiful night, and they call it bella notte. Look at the skies, they have stars in their eyes, on this lovely bella notte. Side by side with your loved one, you'll find enchantment here. The night will weave its magic spell when the one you love is near. Oh, this is a night, and the heavens are right, on this lovely bella notte."
