My Mom

Contrary to what this picture might suggest, this post is not about my mom being Puerto Rican, although she is.

This post is about my mom being the most wonderful, amazing, loving person I have ever met.

Just to say what brought this up, my mom recently, in the words of my cousin, "wanted to find something fun for me to do this summer", and so she surprised me with tickets for the my cousin and I to go see Les Miserables in Salt Lake City and gave me some extra money to help cover food and the shirt that I was inevitably going to buy.

My mom does little things like that for me all of the time. I wouldn't be in college, I wouldn't have gotten the scholarships I did, I wouldn't have dressed up for anything, I wouldn't know what to do with my hair, etc, if she hadn't been there through all of high school encouraging me, reminding me of deadlines, and getting my off my butt to do things.

She is such a loving, kind person, always willing to help anyone she can in any way she can, even though she usually already has a lot on her plate. She still worries about me here in college and looks out for me. She has guided me all of my life, and I don't tell her enough how much she has influence my life and how much I love her and appreciate all that she does for me and how much I know she loves me.

I love you, mom. Thank you for everything.

P.S. I know you might hate the picture I chose, but I like it.
